MELBOURNE - A girl’s 15th birthday typically touches off several important milestones, including entering her first year of high school; driving with a learner’s permit; and possibly even obtaining her first paying job.
However, in the Hispanic community, age 15 carries an additional significance - the beginning of a young girl’s first steps to adulthood, usually marked by a grand celebration known as a quinceañera.
Planning such a special event is one of Betsy Grammenos’ specialties.
Since starting her company, Designed Events & Interiors, in 2001, Grammenos has effectively orchestrated the planning and decorating of countless birthday parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings, and corporate events.
Now, she wants to help teenage girls in Brevard’s growing Hispanic community celebrate their transition into womanhood by adding quinceañeras to her repertoire.
“I have an incredible respect for the Hispanic community. Growing up in a multicultural household taught me the love of celebration and tradition,” Grammenos said.
This love is evident in all of her work, earning her the reputation of being extremely enthusiastic and passionate about her clients’ needs, no matter how large or small.
Planning a quinceañera is no different.
Grammenos said she understands the significance of the occasion, and is very excited to work to satisfy any of her clients’ wishes.
No idea is too crazy and no goal is unattainable for Designed Events & Interiors.
“It is an honor to be a part of this special day in a young girl’s life,” Grammenos said, adding that her expertise and imagination, combined with a family’s desire to give their daughter a memorable celebration, promises an unforgettable quinceañera that is nothing short of spectacular.
